Multiple Projects

The end of May sees the railway hold it's Diesel Gala, one of the most important events in the railway's calender. This year M50455 & M50517 will be operating all day on Friday 30th May and also working two evening round trips on Sunday 1st June. Members of the group have been assisting in organising the gala this year, and we are also helping out in getting the CVR's 4-VEP Class 423 EMU ready. Therefore work on M59137 has slowed, however progress will pick up again in June.

Volunteers Day

A large poster and some slips with contact numbers on were produced specially for Volunteers day, which was Sunday 4th May.

A few people were seen walking around M59137 in the morning, but heavy rain kept people on the trains most of the day. It was also bank holiday weekend, so M50455 & M50517 were in use on Saturday and Sunday, running alongside the steam loco on the Mk1s. As someone needed to be with M59137 should anyone be intersted in joining, a days work was done continueing the protection of the ceiling (now the middle saloon, the rear saloon having been completed) while others were helping on the VEP. The sealing of heater ducts has also recommenced as the gun which was broken has now been repaired.
